Let me take you to CHINALAND!

Does Lemongrass aroma sway you away in its magic? Or the spices of the schezwan create some thrill in you?

Then I have a place known to me that offers sumptuous Chinese cuisine at a jaw dropping prices. Its NIKASHEE located in Malviya Nagar, South Delhi. Run by a sweet and very hospitable couple, Nikashee has something in its menu that is meant for everyone in the menu. And I bet a group of 10 of you can enjoy a wide spread of dishes at a total cost that will not at all make a hole in your pocket!

The most recommended dishes from their elaborate menu are:
> Spring Rolls
> Crispy spinach and straw mushrooms
> Crispy Lotus stem with colorful bell peppers
> Chopsuey
> Vegetables salt & pepper
> Honey Chilli Potato
> Mushroom Fried Rice
> Manchurian in black bean sauce/schezwan sauce
> Chilli panner (Large chunks of cottage cheese fried and served with oriental gravy
> Chilli Garlic noodles
> Fresh Lime salt & sweet to go with all above

Wait! They do serve a variety of non veg dishes too.

Go and savour these mouth watering & finger licking dishes. You will be BELLY HAPPY for sure!

Let me now take you through an imaginary tour of their ambiance. The ambiance truly reflects an oriental mood with Lord Budhha's statues, face, wall paintings here and there, feng shui influenced decoratives and dim lights that will give you a feel of a fine dine restaurant.

Go enjoy at Nikashee, you will have a satisfying experience.

For Winter lovers: The Best PINNI (Indian sweet) in the town!

BANSAL's Sweets in Pitam Pura (Near Madhuban Chowk)

I could not stop myself from having the fourth piece from the box, when I tasted this PINNI from Bansal's sweet. Guess how was I introduced to it?

One of my mom's childhood friend brought a box of PINNI as Diwali gift. (Thanks a lot to you ANJANA Auntie). It has that perfect roasted taste of the black daal (Urad Daal), right amount of sweetened, love filled taste and a whole lot of dry fruits (Mainly Almonds and cashews) with real ghee (Desi Ghee).

Top of it, it melts in your mouth and the flavor blasts in an appropriate manner leaving your taste buds awestruck. I am not getting any commission from the owner of Bansal Sweets, but I promise whatever Indian dessert you taste, you will fall in love with it.

Desserts they offer:

> PINNI
> Moong Dal Halwa
> Gajar Halwa
> Phirni (awesome Taste)
> Gulab Jamun
> Dry fruit milk Burfi and the sorts.

Is is sounding boring?? Doesn't matter. You go and you will be left spellbound by the aroma of these wintry sweets.

My Rating for Bansal sweets: 10 on 10.

Signing off for now. Will be back soon!

The beginning!

I used to get annoyed when my dad used to sarcastically say that "people eat to live and you live to eat!"
Of course, he never wanted me to get saddened because of my extraordinary love of food. After all its there in my genes. He himself is a big foodie, but has maintained himself into a fit body, which I could not ever do.
As I grew up, my passion for food of various sorts, types, from different cuisines and of different nature also grew up. It was not that I loved huge quantities. I always loved variety and quality.

Nobody ever inspired me to start with writing a blog of this kind and I would have never done this till one fine day in a normal conversation, my colleague, Ms Sadhana Banerjee motivated me to start writing my own blog. I have no idea where would it lead me or where would it reach itself. But I am making a beginner's attempt to do this.

I am no connoisseur of food, neither I am a master. I will be just sharing my 'love for food' experiences from across streets to dhaabas to small restaurants to buffets to fine dine to infinity (as I feel there's no end to this beautiful world).
